How do you feel about your own draft, and the draft as a whole?

As a whole I am pretty pleased with how my draft went.
1.) Shannon Williams - DT: I had him ranked 3rd overall since i had a significant need on my defensive line, so i was pretty pleased to snag him at 5th overall
2.) Karl Wetnight - G: Again felt like I got him at a fairly good spot, his B overall rating may have shy'ed some teams away from him but A+/B+ blocking with A- strength had him pegged as a nice addition
3.) Gerald Grant - DT: This pick i wasn't super stoked about, probably should have limited my DT's to only drafting 1 as i really needed a TE but nonetheless he will prove serviceable.
4.) Steve Miller - K: I was happy to get this guy here, I feel like he was the best kicker in the draft given his A+ execution plus my kicker was getting really old and saw some big OS declines
5.) Bob Smith - P: There wasn't much useful talent left by this time so to snag a Punter (again a need since my team was without one) was OK. I can't say im stoked about it since a Punter is by no means a game changer but he will serve my team for a long time.
6.) Dave McDonald - T: Again, not much left but in a pinch he will be serviceable.
7.) John Hall - WR: 4th - 5th string starter on my team, hopefully he doesnt have to see much time on the field

My favorite pick of the draft was Saskatchewans 2nd round pick, Garin Hardy (FS). I had a big need at FS and had him ranked pretty high, to see him slip to 21st wasn't a terrible surprise given his low execution but i certainly think he was a great 2nd round pickup.
My least favorite pick was ironically Saskatchewans 1st round pick, Harry Swilling (QB). I am not a fan of low execution QB's and despite his A potential i'm not so sure he will improve it enough to be top tier.

pick i liked best, 1st round: Johnson, #13. LV. a very good DB who i had ranked at 4. he'll be a great ballhawking FS and could probably play effectively at CB or SS if needed. very good value at 13.
pick i liked least, 1st round: Swilling, #4, SAS/Kelly, #8, MON: this is a tie. the qbs get the nod simply because i just cannot stand QBs with blue-letter ACC. the secondaries are all decent enough for both of them but with the way POT works nowdays i just don't see them getting accurate enough to justify this kind of draft slot.
player i liked best: Newbill, #1, ORL. no explanation needed here, i don't think.
pick i liked best, 2nd round: Hardy, #20, SAS. i had this guy bookended with johnson at 5 and 4. if johnson is the best value of the 1st at 13, hardy is the runaway winner in the 2nd, for all of the same reasons.
pick i liked least, 2nd round: Winters, 17, NYA. granted, it wasn't a very good or very deep draft, so there is naturally going to be a lot more volatilitry in the second round than normal this year. but winters doesn't play the run or the pass well and is just an adequate tackler. i don't think his STR makes up for all of that.
my own draft i feel just ok about. loved getting steed at 13. i had him ranked 2. i think musser is a steal at 27. lebueax and adams i think are pretty good value for their slots, although i don't know how necessary they are on our roster right now. everything after that is i think pretty much headed to the wire.

I agree with DD on the QBs. Very surprised to see not one, but both that high in the draft.
The safety at 20 was a tremendous pick. I also think the Orange nabbed a great Guard one pick later. Their first round DT was a huge pick too that I liked.
Lapham at #2 surprised me, but I feel it was solid. I really like him as a dual-threat player.
As for my own draft, nabbing the top overall pick allowed me to package an older, less-talented HB than the one I drafted to pick up a top tier DE. Win-win for me there. Bizer at the end of the 1st was nice, but my real WR target went 1 pick before me. Still, a nice addition at a position I desperately need for my scheme. I nabbed a Kicker ranked 21st on my board at 32, I just did not think there were any talents at that spot that would bring the impact a top kicker could (I had no kicker). If Luhn at 38 gets his catch up slightly, he'll factor into my offense sooner than later. Floyd and Poole were good value picks as well. Adamle will likely make the roster, but needs to pick it up quickly if he wants to stick around.

Chicago was pretty pleased with 1st rd. John Simon at DT. Nothing spectacular, but it wasn't really a spectacular draft class either. He's adequate on the pass and run and he's pretty athletic. It was a good pick for us as we needed help on the D-line. 1
2nd rd LBer Charles Williams, again nothing spectacular, but does what he needs to do at a little better than average level. Has a good attitude and he's pretty athletic, so hope is he'll chase down some backs and jump and block some passes.
3rd and 4th were also LBers. Nothing to write home about, but the'll sit and hopefully improved. With our extra 4th we got a kicker and thought that was a good place to pick one up. He's doesn't have the strongest leg, but he's super accurate and our kicking pair are getting long in the tooth.

In defence of my pick of QB - I needed one desparately lol only a B+ 32yr veteran on roster of any worth so was sort of forced into that one Overall my draft was aimed at "youthening" up my aged and creaking roster and improving defensive backfield Next year will be OL and LBs lol Will realistically take another 2/3 seasons to get the type of roster I want but I can play the long game ! My favourite (yes Im English !) picks in the draft were all and any that make the grade either here in Montreal oe elsewhere in the League

No need to defend it, each person has their own needs and doesnt want a waiver wire player starting if they can help it.
I have valued certain players 2 rounds higher than they should be cause i really needed them...

Amen. I drafted a kicker at 32, far above where I'm comfortable drafting one. But that was a huge need for me.
