Head to Head vs. Run Differential

I guess my rant was over nothing....now that the playoffs have started, the Highlanders have the home field advantage against the Red Sox. The initial schedule showed it the other way around, which led to my wondering what criteria was used for tiebreakers. Apparently, it IS head-to-head record.
