Tremendous Slump

May 04, 2012 at 04:15PM View BBCode

So, Tony Erickson has gone from a 50+ HR pace, to not having a HR in over a month.

In the past month, Erickson is 28/117 for a .239 Avg., 4 doubles, 1 triple, 0 HR, 5 SB, 7 RBI. He has scored 18 Runs though.

Not good for a guy that was at one time 400 votes in the lead for the AL MVP race.

Key series on deck for Erickson's team- BAL at WAS with Baltimore hanging on to a 1 game lead for the AL wild card. Baltimore has lost 8 of 12, while Washington before sweeping Minnesota had gone just 3-9. New York has gotten back in the hunt , going 9-2.

Not enough time left for the Gothams, I think.

It helps that the Black Sox just had a 32 year-old B rated pitcher with an ERA of 8.38 throw the impossible 2-hit shutout against me. While my ace and long relief specialist (who was dominant in that role before I had to put him in the rotation so my ace could spend 36 days on the DL) give up 7 in 6 2/3 innings.

Zeb Babb should never pitch well against this squad, nevertheless throw that sort of a gem.

Well, it took until game 161 to eliminate me.... I guess the Gothams had more kick than I anticipated...
