needs to be explained a bit...
this is a two year rental?
Just so it ist stated though This is much less than anyone has ever paid for cps in this league to this point. If there is not some sort of explanation to the idea of a 2 yr rental i am going to protest this trade only to make sure that the time doesnt run out. I personally am very opposed to the idea of protesting trades, but i dont like the idea of an owner coming into the league planning on being their for a few seasons, and gutting any future to make a run that probably wont happen anyway. I am being up front, and dont want to protest the trade so please explain what is going on. this rp is very marginal and 2 yrs of cps is alot. CPs are a very valuable asset, and in my experiecne the owner trading for the cps usually comes out on top to begin with. to value cps below market value hurts the league.
But most important i dont like the ide of an owner coming in looking to make a run, and decimating the next owners team knowing he is only around a few years. not to mention it wouldnt suprise most of us to find that sort of player on the waiver wire at some point. This needs to be discussed. I will yield to the rest of the league, but lets at least make sure we are all in agreement with what is going on here.

He announced to the league that he was willing to trade cp's for pitching. I am not asking for a "rental" on the pitcher. I stated in my offer that he was to put 5 cp's on Howard for two years at which time I expected the player to be returned. That was Howard I was refering to. He will keep the RP. He will be a million years old anyway.
He does not have prospects that deserve those CP's. So his CP's had more value to me than they did to him. He got something for them, and those are worth less today than they were yesterday. They are a perishable product.

i understand that he keeps the RP who is mediocre/terrible and as you state "will be a million years old". it's just MY opinion (and i beleive nates') that giving up a commodity like 5cps (25% of what you are alotted), for two years, should have more value to it than the player he received. especially to "help" a team in your own division. that's my point. :)

I am not going to comment a whole lot on the merits of the trade and I think my view is different than everyone else's. I made an offer. He accepted.
I traded a pitcher that is worth more to him than to me for a commodity that is worth more to me than him. In a vacuum, it works and every situation is different. That trade would not have worked for you.
My team is not a contender, regardless of my standings right now. I think all of us know that. The relief pitcher that is 33 is not gonna help me when I need the help...in a couple of years. The cp's likely will.
