Buddy Gruber put together the year that all domiNATEors thought he would have, and won the MVP. Ron Gleason also put it all together for the first time, and could have very easily won the MVP. Ken Griffey Jr put up another MVP type season. The domiNATEors reaquired Rick Dargress who also was MVP like. John Tudor was second in the cy young. Johny Amelung was a solid number 2 starter. Willie Bonner was given a shot of closing after the DomiNATEors traded Blank, and he never let go of that role. The domiNATEors are getting older, but with such a solid group of veterans coming off the franchises second championship the domiNATEors will be looking to compete again next season.

won their second world championship this year. it was as close a series as you could imagine, but the domiNATEors came out on top. It was a great season in philadelphia. The domiNATEors moved long time closer Ron Blank and Dick Metha inthe middle of the season. Ron Camilli and Jack Murphy went from starter/ all star contenders to part time bench players who each spent time in the minors, but they hung on for another season.
