Anybody know if the names generated are given the same probability? If not it seems crazy that an uncommon (in real life) name like Moose Petralli would come up twice.

ABE simply randomly selects a first name and a last. Among players who played in the majors there have been seven players who actually went by the name Moose, and one Petralli.
Given the number of names generated annually by ABE, with all the trial leagues and amateur drafts, recurring names, even odd ones, will happen.

All names have the same "priority" but more common ones will occur more often. Names are generated from the names of all players in Baseball Reference, I believe only major leaguers are used but I may be in error with that .ABE simply randomly selects a first name and a last. Among players who played in the majors there have been seven players who actually went by the name Moose, and one Petralli.
Given the number of names generated annually by ABE, with all the trial leagues and amateur drafts, recurring names, even odd ones, will happen.
