It's my understanding that you can change a name of anyone who has not won a significant award (i.e. Cy Young, RoY, etc) and it's been my observation that most players can have their names changed early in the season (I did a bunch of frivolous nicknames in a fit of baseball-less madness)
So, what I'm not understanding is why I cannot change the name of a minor leaguer (no ML service time at all) whose name I changed earlier in the season; nor anyone else I have looked at.
Is there a season deadline for name changes?

It seems like some of the names lock but you can change them back once the season starts again. Not sure why.

You can only change names in the first 30 days of the season, then they lock until next offseasonPages: 1
