New York(AL) advances to the world series, beating Baltimore 4 games to 2. The Browns won the 1st two games on the road and were looking to be in good shape when NY staged a 9th inning 4 run rally to win game 3. Then the Creatures swept in Balt. and went home to finish the series off in game 6.

Thanks - it was a hard-fought series by both sides. I was victimized by my normally solid defense (2nd in Fielding % and first in +/-) with a decisive unearned run in Game 2, and 4 more in key spots later on, such that 5 of the 19 runs NY gave up were unearned. I also gave up quite a few "minus" defensive plays.

But the story in the Series was pitching - yours in the first 2.5 games and mine in the last 3.5.

I would give the ALCS MVP to Saunderson, he played great, very clutch:
-Game 2: scored the tying run in the 6th inning of an eventual 3-2 loss
-Game 4: Went 4-for-5 with 2 runs and 3 RBI, including a game-winning 3-run HR in the 7th
-Game 6: Went 3-for-4 with a 2-run HR in the 3rd, and then had an RBI double and scored in the 5th to put the game out of reach

DYNASTY! Wow, I need to pay better attention to your formula (though I suspect you may be heading toward rebuilding a bit due to age?).

Well done and good to have the champs still in the AL!

Thanks all~

With only one notable (and fully expected) retirement, the Creatures will try to charge on to a second Three-peat this decade. If I could have gotten some more hits vs. Brooklyn's (formidable!) pitching in the 2005 Fall Classic, I'd be trying for 7 straight this year - but of course, I attribute a lot of my success to my friend ABE :o I've seen much better teams in TCL not get lucky enough to win 5 out of 6, that's for sure.

Congrats again, 5 titles during this run is very impressive. One thing I've noticed is that aging teams full of vets well past their prime still win a large % of World Series in SimD. I fully believe ABE has some kind of bias toward teams that get held together rather than going into full-blown rebuild. In fact my new approach will be to keep playing till my team doesn't make the playoffs, then tear it down. But not until then.
