I'm not going to make a long post analyzing this trade. The protester feels that SF gave up too much for Freitas, but there's no evidence that this trade rises to the level of being overturned. There is no conspiracy or fleecing going on.

What I see:

A first-place team giving up two fairly inconsequential players and an OS22 B-/B RP who might turn out to be useful, plus a very late R1 and R2 pick for an OS25 C+/A+ SP who is pretty close to his ceiling with those splits.

In most leagues, that pitcher will not be your ace if you want to win titles, maybe a 3rd/4th starter, I'd think. Late R1 picks can be good or bad but it's no sure thing by any means.

Seems like both teams got something they wanted. I see nothing to get upset over. If the picks weren't included, I'd expect owners to think he underpaid, so I'm not seeing what the fuss is at all.

Let it stand. Happy Holidays.
