I just lost a game when, while tied, a missed long-shot field goal at the end of the game allowed the opponent to drive 20 yards and kick their own field goal. When I went to correct my settings, I discovered that I can't because had I been down by 1-3 points, that would have been exactly what I wanted my team to do.

As a suggestion, tt would be nice to treat tied OR behind by 1-3 as 2 different situations under kicking. I think teams would take a long-shot field goal if they're losing, but may want to trust there Defense more and punt if they're tied.I just lost a game when, while tied, a missed long-shot field goal at the end of the game allowed the opponent to drive 20 yards and kick their own field goal.
