I know injuries are a part of the game but if I was in a pay league and lost a key starter for a lengthy period of time in a preseason game I would be seriously upset.November 20, 2011 at 09:33PM View BBCode
Well, it's remarkably unrealistic to turn it off. I think it's absurd that we start every SD baseball season with a healthy roster and pitchers able to go at full endurance.November 20, 2011 at 10:34PM View BBCode
Injuries are reduced to about 50% of normal in preseason on the theory that players aren't playing as hard.November 20, 2011 at 11:39PM View BBCode
I agree with red. But it would much easier if we could make "mass sub" changes in the preseason or somehow dicate playing time for more simply.November 21, 2011 at 01:24AM View BBCode
I do think there needs to be an easier way to designate a group of players (let's say 8 or so players) that would be pulled in the event of ANY preseason games and after a team goes up by a certain score in the regular season (never in the playoffs). This could mean that they are simply moved to the bottom of the depth chart in these cases because I know it's incredibly time-consuming to try and balance the roster pre-season (and nigh on impossible in blowouts). This could be ignored in the event of injury (if the backup quarterback playing in the preseason got hurt, the starter would obviously come in to play if there was no 3rd-stringer).November 21, 2011 at 02:12AM View BBCode
What I intend to actually do is give you a "bench starters" function that you can specify for preseason and blowouts. For example, you could set it to bench your starters from the 2nd quarter on in preseason so they only play a quarter of football. (Note that reducing their playing time will reduce their IC's!)November 21, 2011 at 05:44AM View BBCode

Of course it's not perfect; if you don't have depth and the players who ARE playing get tired, the starters may come in, and of course they can come in if there is an injury, but you'll have more control than youdo now.
Of course, you can always deactivate players, but this puts them at risk of being auto-waived if you don't manage your roster properly.

Well it's depth chart based, so you'd have a default that you could then override by depth chart.Pages: 1
