At the beginning of the '67 season I traded for Craig Harmon to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of my FB John Gardner.
We followed up with our poorest rushing season to date but I attributed this primarily to declines from my principal RB Larry Orr. 1968 began and Orr's performance continued to struggle, through the first seven games Orr had only 452 yards on 120 carries, 3.8 yards per carry .
In week 8, game #7 for the SOR, Harmon went down for 25 days and I grabbed Tony Richins off the waiver wire to serve as our FB and the results have been astounding. In the two games that Richins has started Orr has rushed for 273 yards on 44 carries, raising his average yards per carry from a career low of 3.8 to 4.4 and vaulting the SOR from 9th in average rushing yards per game up to 3rd .
At this point I've got to think that Harmon's going to have a tough time getting his job back.

Two games isn't a great sample size, and it's hard to see anything in the skill sets that clearly explains the discrepancy. Richins is a better run blocker and a bit stronger, but not much better. Harmon has the better Execution.
Is it possible the defenses you faced the past two games were less effective? Maybe they geared for the pass more?

I wish I had a waiver wire pickup to blame for my astonishing turnaround this season (started 5-1, then had a bye week, then went 1-6).
Time to reevaluate, and I'm gonna start by looking at little things like what you just did.
