Totally missed this at the end of last season. Did anyone do a writeup?
---
A career SS solely for the Detroit Silver Hawks, Charlie was RoY in 1976 and MVP in 1986. He had a near-monopoly on representing at the All-Star game, having a string of 11 consecutive appearances (6 as starter) in his 16 seasons. Charlie has also been an Iron Man having led his league in Game Played 7 times and played in EVERY game in 5 seasons. He is 2nd among active players in hits (behind only Rick Karl) and 14th all-time with a career .301 average and 339 career home runs. Charlie Rusch's HoF credentials are very clear.
Only a WS ring has eluded Charlie and at the time of this writing, his team is in a 3-way tie for first place.
Best of luck to Charlie Rusch and thank you for 16 years of brilliant baseball!
