Where's the Save?

How does Eddie Lake not get a save in this game? He came in curing the bottom of the ninth with 1 out and his team had a 7-4 lead. After giving up a single, the runner was caught stealing for the 2nd out of the inning. After giving up a 2nd single, he struck out the next batter to end the game.
The rule for a save is finishing a game (picking up the final out) and preserving a 3-run or less lead... or enter the game in a situation where a runner is on base and represents a run that would make the lead 3 or less. In this situation, it does not matter if it is 1 out or 27 outs. If you finish a game you did not start and preserve a 3-run or less lead that was in place when you came into the game... you get the save. The other way to pick up a save is to finish a game and preserve an existing lead (no limitation on that lead) after pitching 3 or more innings.
Clearly Lake should have gotten a save for this game... but alas... no save was granted.

Actually the rule states a few criteria. Here are the two that make him ineligible for the save:
He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning
In this case, he pitched 2/3 of an inning.
He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, at bat or on deck
In this case, the hitter on deck would have only made the game 7-6 if he had scored, so your guy was not eligible in this respect.
