ABE has seen fit to take down 4 of my guys in the past month, including Phineas Mazerati during the last series of the season! I even rested 4 guys before the last 3 games because of this epidemic. I guess you're not safe unless you rest the whole team, and I never rest guys at the end of season.

You know, with that pitching and Omura, that's all you need. Omura goes crazy in the playoffs. The numbers don't lie. (Okay, he tanked last year, but the motivation is in. He's going to blow up.)

So, I rested everyone but my benchers and picked up like 17 guys from the WW for the last 3 games once I clinched the playoffs.

That's exactly what I did with my NYN team... it's bad enough I fell off from a 120 win pace to going 9-21 in the last 30 games of the season... finishing with 99 wins. 3 pitchers who were absolutely dominant in the first half (one was on pace for 28 wins with a 1.77 ERA and .61 WHIP through 90 games!) wound up pitching like they suddenly were rookies again getting overwhelmed.So, I rested everyone but my benchers and picked up like 17 guys from the WW for the last 3 games once I clinched the playoffs.

ABE took Mercedes, Baker, and Ashby from me over the past Sim week...he figured he should even things out for our series. :)Good luck in Game 5 and beyond!

Again, if you're a stat guy, especially with a bunch of HoFs on your team, you'll want the stats for them. But it's just a week, and better to avoid injuries if you can.
Course there's nothin' you can do when ABE nails your guys with a 40-day DL stint with a month left. Maybe the only thing possible is bench your stars more often, integrate more youth toward the back end of the season. Could even be ABE kind of "requires" such action, simulating the kind of wear and tear on vets by having them injured if they're played too much at the end of the season.
I mean, call me PARANOID, because of course the Sim doesn't work that way as far as I know. AS FAR AS I KNOW.

Yeah, I totally get that strategy. The biggest problem I have with that method is when I forget to put the starters back in or my internet connection decides to $hit the bed right before the playoffs. I've been burnt by that before, where I ended up with my 5th starter going twice in a playoff series and it cost me a trip to the World Series.

I couldn't pull my regulars until the last 3 games. I finished with 99 wins... 3rd place wound up with 98 wins... and swept me on the final sim day. Granted, I threw benchers and WW bums at him, but he may have won that series anyway.

Well, I'm in the series there (HWL) for the 2nd year in a row. Not bad since I only have 3 regulars above the age of 30... and 4 20-22 YO B+ boys ready to take their place in the next couple of seasons.Pages: 1
