The flag was flown on this play after the interception, so it seems to me that we should have kept the ball and had the penalty enforced on the runback. Is this a mistake in the way the Play-by-Play appears or in the coding?01:36. 26 14 CAL 3/10 LV 14

The penalty takes prescedence. It is assumed to have happened before the ball was thrown. Walker may have impeded Hendren or the 1st look receiver, thus allowing the interception. Holding usually happens because the defender is getting beat.August 10, 2011 at 08:37PM View BBCode

That appears to be correct; although inherently I "know" this to be true I can't actually find the applicable rule in the Rulebook yet.Pages: 1
