Having already set the league record for walks and singles, Milwaukee's Bill Breckinridge is closing in on some more significant marks.
He's 8 hits shy of Hack Stapleton's all-time hits record of 3503 and 5 doubles shy of tying Stapleton's record of 609. His 3rd at-bat will also set the mark for most at-bats in a career, and if he plays long enough (or well enough), Dave Moss' runs record could be in jeopardy (he's 67 shy at this moment). He's also 24th All-Time in home runs, and closing in on 450 for his career.
Milwaukee fans are all waiting anxiously to see these records tumble!
EDIT: Now just one hit shy of 3503.

The hits record is now his, at 3539 and counting. He has tied the doubles record and he's cracked 2100 runs, now trailing Moss by only 46.

Somehow Breckinridge avoided retirement in 1999 and he's now up over 3800 hits. Almost every major counting record is his....hits, runs scored, doubles. Too bad he wasn't more of a power hitter!
