Salary increases

I have a pretty young team that is barely under the cap (47 total players). In the offseason this team will be a year older and more improved. Wages will increase accordingly? If this happens, many of these players will have to be cut or traded to fit under next years cap?

As I understand it, the cap is relative. Some players will increase, some will decrease, every season. And there is a small random element involved as well. So, yes, if you built a good team and it improved well, you could be in trouble with the cap.

Since there are no "contracts", a salary can go up or down. Salaries overall are based on where the average overall rating is plus your distance from the average, so if the highest-paid player suddenly retires, there could be a lot of salary shifting. On the other hand, incoming college players are judged relatve to the existing pros, so their talent doesn't affect the greater salary pool until the year after they are drafted.
