Week 10

July 26, 2011 at 02:38PM View BBCode

It looks like the National Conference Wildcard race could be very exciting this season with 3 teams tied at 4-4 (PHI, HAM, and SAS).

Philly is up 21-3 vs. the Cavalry, so they may end up with a nice advantage in the wildcard race with a win.

Hamilton is struggling with SF, tied 7-7 at the half in spite of having over 100 yards more offensively than SF has had. A holding penalty in the final minute of the first half led to a Hamilton punt instead of a 1st down from inside SF's 20, so there were points lost there, and the rain has led to 1 INT from each team.

We aren't very good either, but we've managed to win 4 in a row, so I am hopeful.

My guys looked pretty good at the beginning of the season, but we are now on the way to our 5th loss in a row! I either overestimated the team's abilities or my strategies stink :)!

The NY-LV game was close and back and forth for the first 3 quarters, but NY committed 6 turnovers in the 4th quarter alone (6!), allowing the Predators to pull away and improve to 8-1.

Week 10 Power Rankings

1. Las Vagas
2. It may not matter

Good team, good plan. 6 picks today and Joe Alexander is back to his fumbling, bumbling self. He put it on the ground 3 times again today, (lost 1) what a disapponitment heŽs been.

But I shouldnt take anything away from Vegas, great defensive game plan today and I fell right in to it. Vegas lost thier strating LCB early in the 3rd Q and I thought weŽd be able to take advantage but they turned us over on the final 6 drives (5 picks) to win going away.

Wow....that's a lot of turnovers...

The COL-TOL was a good defensive game...
1st Quarter: 0-0 tied
2nd Quarter: 3-3 tied
3rd Quarter: 13-10 Toledo

Shortly thereafter, Colorado tied the game at 13-13, but Toledo pulled away for good with a TD..

Hamilton scored a TD and attempted a 2-pt conversion to tie the game with less than 30 seconds remaining, but we failed the 2-pt attempt. Good game, SF!

How about the tight AC East division? Kinda like we expected. NY,Pho,Tol all knotted up at 6-3 with Houston just 2 games back of first place.
7 games left on the schedule.

Dateline: Sacramento

Put out the Cats and turn out the lights

Since beating the Eskimo Pies in Week 4, the River Cats have not been able to find a win. Even in those four previous losses the Cats have remained competitive. Not so tonight. After the first quarter, the River Cats went away.

After allowing 103 yards in the first quarter, the Eskimo Pies knuckled down and held their opponent to 89 yards for the rest of the game. After allowing the River Cats to score a touchdown and try a field goal (missed), the Eskimo Pies only allowed the Cat across mid-field two time for the rest of the game (Edm 46 and Edm 35).

"Finally things are starting to click for us," commented Coach Nanook. "We made a plan. We stuck to the plan, and we were rewarded for the plan."

Next up, the Pies will hope that the sailors are buying drinks as they face off against the Hamilton Navy. Sacramento travels to Houston to meet the Oilers.
