Position vs BOVR

June 29, 2011 at 02:28PM View BBCode

So I didn't have time to set my starting roster for the 1st exhibition game and AFE chose to start [url=http://footballbeta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=123603]Fritsch[/url] at RDE, passing over [url=http://footballbeta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=123443]Brown[/url] .

I was a bit surprised until I saw that both were 68 at DE but I still wondered what basis AFE used to determine who started since Brown is overall 68 versus Fritsch's 66 .

I think the Position vs. BOVR is going to be really confusing to a lot of users.

There is enough stuff going on in this SIM without owners having to worry about whether or not the guy they drafted at ILB is actually better suited for DE, plus that's an illogical transition. I can see OLB to DE but how many ILB's get moved to DE in real life ?

I agree completely that the BOVR is very very confusing. It is useful for guys like T's who are best suited for RT or LT (my 1st round T is playing RT for me and my 2nd round T is playing LT, even though you typically see that the other way around). It is even useful in the defensive backfield, where you have SS's, FS's, and some CB's who are better at playing S than at the corner spots. But having dozens of league LB's listed as DE in their best role and having dozens of QB's listed as H's in their best role is just plain silly and very confusing.

Can you put some parameters on this and simply restrict which positions get listed as "BOVR" on the card and roster and such?

Yes, there are already somed positions that don't show up in BOVR. I have to have H there because it is currentlty a draft position but I plan to replace H with FB in the draft.

Excellent idea. It's a very different skill set than HB.

Have you given any thought to splitting up LT and RT in the first two rounds?

Not sure I'd want LT and RT split up, as so many players can play both..

I just use draft rankings for this anyway.
