Rick Karl reaches 3000 hits

Rick Karl began his career in 1974 with New York in the AL and it's looking like he'll wrap up his career with New York in the NL. In a fairly tepid season for the 37 year-old CF, Rick is still managing a .348 OBP and anchoring the #2 hole for the New York Whiner Babies. A World Series ring has eluded him but he's hopeful.
Rick Karl is the active leader in Hits (15th All-Time), trails only Johnny Gross in active RBI, 3rd in active BA, 2nd in active OBP, and 4th in active OPS. Rick has 9 All-Star appearances including 2 starts (1 in RF and 1 in CF), 5 reserves as SS and 2 OF reserves. He also has 2 Gold Gloves in RF and a Batting Title. Sprinkle in a career .303 BA, 338 HR, and 1498 RBI, his best MLB comp seems to be George Brett (if you add some pop and play a more demanding position (SS/CF).
Let's congratulate Rick Karl for his great accomplishment of 3000 hits.
Detroit's Charlie Rusch is next on the active hit leader list at 2772.

Karl is a HOF'er in my book. .379 career OBP is excellent....and he has had some pop.
