LA Cannons

Hi all, I just took control of LA. Is there anything you would like me to work on? I thought I would play around with position changes for a start.

Anybody have a fullback for sale?

Good luck, and welcome to the team!

Right now, there are still a few B rated FBs on the waiver wire...that was the best I could do in this league too...not very deep in FBs this season.

Welcome aboard. I haven't heard anyone testing our position changes, so that sounds interesting.

I have a FB playing C and a LB playing DT, plus a CB who is starting two ways at HB and SS.

Let me know what to look for with these things.

FB Karl Stansauk is playing center? He is age 24 and already a B center. Too bad you couldn't have got him a couple years ago. I'll watch his Imps.

He's yours now. See what you can do with him.

I'm thrilled to add another 2-way player!!!

Fulla, FYI we are running on an accellerated schedule at three games a day; see http://footballbeta.simdynasty.com/leagueschedule.jsp?lid=4 for details.

Imps & switch observations

QB Mike Crooms 22 years old with A potential.
Mike was 39/76 in ICs. I took over when the reg season started and I changed his drills to Discipline and train as Holder. Discipline cuz his poor execution. I chose to train as Holder because of fewer skills that are more QB specific. Holder did give him more Hand IMPs (18/28) that I would like. He was B overall and now he is a good looking B+.
Compare with Oakland's QB Eddie Timberlake who is also 22 yo B+ but has C- potential. Chris what did he "train as" and what skills? Eddie actually did better but improved in more RB categories.

QB IMP skills=Throw Acc, Throw pwr, Exec, Carry, Hands, Agility, Speed, Brk Tackle (8 total)
H IMP skills = Hands, Exec, Throw Acc, Throw pwr (4 total)
I didn't want Mike to improve RB skills so I chose Holder.

C/FB Karl Stansauk 24yo, B- Potential

Karl trained as Center and lifted weights. Imps (29/73) was much less than the 22 yo and he never moved up to B+ as a center. His play was hard to judge because of lack of center stats but I believe he was a good blocker. I'm sure he would have been much more valuable as a FB. He had 3 penalties for 20 yds. The top 10 centers all had 3 or less penalties. His age probably stunted this change. I have players in other leagues that I am tracking their switches and it appears a switch of 1/3 letter grade per position will take at least a full year.

Timberlake trained as QB with All-Around drills. He went 42/78 overall. His biggest improvement was 8/13 in Throwing Accuracy. He started the season at 84.2 in throw accuracy and ended at 88.7 so he averaged just over half a point per improvement.

(Potential increases your chance of converting an improvement; Attitude increases your number of improvement chances overall.) The size of the improvement is a percentage of your total score that declines as you get closer to 100; the chance of conversion does not change as you get closer to 100.
