Trade Vote

We have received 3 complaints on this trade:
A trade has been completed between the Washington Freeze and the Cleveland Ballbusters. The Cleveland Ballbusters receive Eddie Sullivan, Mike Kuhel from the Washington Freeze in exchange for Frank Hinson, Draft Pick - 2007 Round 1 (CLE).

Starting sometime today or tomorrow on the game side at www.simdynasty.com, you should see a red link or popup window asking for your opinion. If 66% of the owners who vote, vote to overturn, we will reverse the trade. Owners involved in the trade are not eligible to vote. We will allow all owners at least 3 days to vote.
In the event that there are draft picks involved, the draft runs before voting concludes, and the trade is reversed, we will clone players to make things right for the two owners involved.
See this thread for info on this process:

We will also included a 3rd parties unbiased opinion of the deal. This is from an experienced owner, who only looked at the trade itself and has no knowledge of who owns the teams. I have asked him to post that here when he gets a minute. The reason we ask him to give an opinion is because of past complaints in other trade protest proceedings where owners felt that someone should give an unbiased opinion of the deal. Of course, I don't want to become entangled in these kind of league matters myself so that's why we bring in an outsider to give an opinion. You can do whatever you like with his opinion.
I also ask that you refrain from publicly discussing the trade. Nothing good ever comes of those discussions. Public discussion of the trade may result in you losing your posting privileges.
If either of the owners involved in the trade would like their comments attached to this thread, please post a private note in Support.
Thanks,
Tyson

Comment from Satyr:
1)the WAS owner had these players on the trading block for at least 1 week I believe, so he had ample time to get some better offers
2)the deal was offered to me on the verge of the trading deadline by a team who is rebuilding, 1 of the players I received is a 30yr+ player. The other player has yet to bat .265avg in any season.
Also, these players may have more value to most other teams but for me maybe not as much. I have a B+/A+ vs R's sitting on the bench as well as some other A- hitters....so these guys dont have as much value to my team as they would for a team where they would play every day

WAS gets:
Hinson - a mediocre hitter with a high contact split. Career numbers suggest maxed out or very close to maxed out contact. A valuable utility player.
CLE's 1st rounder - probably a playoff pick, good but not great opportunity to develop a future starter. This is a valuable piece.
CLE gets:
Kuhel - an os 30 OF with high power and red letter leadership. His speed is only a "B" but he is certainly capable of putting up MVP numbers.
Sullivan - an OS 28 catcher who doesn't play good defense and has average hitting grades.
I'm very surprised that Sullivan and Kuhel were both former top 3 draft picks. You can generally find that level of talent later in the 1st round, or even in the 2nd round in most drafts (go look at the league leaders in OPS and check their average draft position). Still, they are very good hitters who can contribute even on a contender for the next 5-7 seasons.
Personally, I think that the most valuable piece in the deal is CLE's 1st rounder. Both of the hitters that CLE got are better than Hinson, but if the draft pick is developed properly and the draft is ranked appropriately, the player taken with that pick should end up being better than either Sullivan or Kuhel.
That's what I think anyway.

Voting has been open for 3 days. We got 8 total votes. 4 votes to overturn, 4 votes to let it stand. That falls short of the required 66% so the trade will stand.
