xp pct goal?

I think the xp made pct is rather low, at least in my league, 95% at the moment. which would be okay if the goal was to mirror the 1960 stats.
however, looking at the recent NFL stats, a goal of at least 99% would be more accurate.

I had one missed and one blocked xp today. most xp that are not made today in NFL are blocked. there were only 4 xp missed in the last 3 years (approx. 3500 xp kicks).

so, based on current NFL stats, I think my kicker [url=http://www.football.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=3796]Ronnie Beck[/url] with A- KP and A+ KA should never miss a xp.

question is, are you trying to mirror 1960 stats or current stats?

I think that there should be fewer missed extra points as well. Maybe make the average kicker just a tad better in the draft?

There are a lot of poor kickers in my league. I bid high to get a really good one.

Accuracy seems to be much more important than power on the vast majority of kicks, from what I can tell. A guy who is B/A+ has the best FG% in my league, better than my A+/A guy who has hit from longer distance but missed a few here and there.

Execution is part of the mix as well. Execution is helpful on longer kicks and execution is used for wind compensation.

Extra point kicks are not handled any differently from field goals. On all kicks, there is a chance that a kick will just get adly shanked; this is based on the lower of the kicker's Accuracy and Execution scores. Almost all missed extra points fall into this category, although occasionally one will be missed in high winds with a bad hold. What is your kicker's Execution rating?

When I designed the kicking part of the sim, I don't think the data I was looking at differentiated between missed extra points and blocked extra points. I will take a look at this and make some adjustments, because looking at the cumulative data XP's are running about 96% and that is too low My target is about 98-99% for both blocks and misses put together.

OK, I figured out why extra points were missing that often; it was treating all extra points as having Bad holds even when they weren't. I've fixed this going forward.
