There are a few pages on the message boards and the site where you see a brief message and are forwarded to another page. We've decided to increase the size of the ads on those pages to ads that pay a bit more. I hope nobody minds.March 02, 2011 at 12:46AM View BBCode
These adds appear every time I go to another team and they take up about a quarter of the screen. They are not at the top of the page and they delay the process of getting to the home page.March 02, 2011 at 12:46AM View BBCode
Just got another one when I posted the previous message.March 02, 2011 at 01:41AM View BBCode

Don't we already have enough ads on the site...it is a pay site after all.March 02, 2011 at 06:29AM View BBCode

In fact it's the only pay/subscription site I belong to that I have ads forced on me. Maybe there are others but not that I frequent.
There are banner ads at the top and bottom of pages and now they're flashing all over the place.
Personally I'd be more than willing to pay a bit more for the game not to be pestered by flashing lights in banner ads telling me to click on my age. Put the ads in the Trial Leagues, the Home Page, the Login Page, but once we're in the pay leagues we really shouldn't be subjected to ads.
Send a poll to your steady customers. See if they'd be willing to pay a few bucks more to help you out and not have to have ads flashing at them.

After a game when I want to go to another page like standings I get adds with no way of getting off them but go back and then forward again. There isn't even any thing at the top to go to another page.March 02, 2011 at 04:19PM View BBCode
Ridge - that sounds like an issue of some kind. It may not be related to ads, can you create a thread in Support? If possible, can you take a screen shot of what you are seeing?March 02, 2011 at 04:34PM View BBCode
The ads for the login screen are nice, that screen never said or did anything other than say "log in successful" anyway and it does NOT impact the speed of accessing the site at all. I think it is great that you guys are generating a little bit of ad revenue from a page that no one cares about. LOLMarch 03, 2011 at 02:32AM View BBCode
It definitely takes longer to get to the home page. It's not a huge amount of time, but it's definitely annoying.March 03, 2011 at 02:27PM View BBCode
If the ads are going to keep the price down for us then I don't see the big deal.March 03, 2011 at 02:30PM View BBCode
My problem hasn't happened for awhile now. Hopefully this post doesn't bring it backMarch 03, 2011 at 03:37PM View BBCode
Leonard - I am curious, how many seconds does it take, can you look at a watch when you switch teams? Are you on dial-up internet?March 03, 2011 at 09:19PM View BBCode
Wow, that is surprising. It shouldn't take any longer than a normal page load, as it is just loading an ad which every page loads for the most part.March 04, 2011 at 02:50AM View BBCode
I don't see that info. When I click on instant speed test it wants me to purchase the full edition. I don't see a speed rating there.March 04, 2011 at 10:24PM View BBCode
My work computer tested at 1.36 mbps, which is abysmally slow, and I'm using an outdated version of Internet Explorer (I think we still have IE6, it is embarrassing). It often takes over 20 seconds for me to switch between teams, but that is normal and I have not noticed anything being slower since you put the ads on the "loading ..." page.March 04, 2011 at 10:28PM View BBCode
the new ads do not impact my load times in any way. like others, i do not find them in any way bothersome am and perfectly happy to continue to look at them for 3 seconds if it keeps my costs down.Pages: 1
