Second Half Lineup

January 30, 2011 at 09:57PM View BBCode

So I was out this morning when the 1st half ran and returned to set my depth charts .

So in the 2nd half my defense comes out with a RB at RDE and a TE at LDE, backups at DT and LB except MLB where my #5 CB starts and backups at CB, I think my safeties were right.

When my offense comes out it's with my #2 QB, my #4 RB, #4 FB, #2 TE, #2 SE, #2 FL, #2 C, #2 LG, a DT at RG, and backups at both Tackles.

We didn't do well in the 2nd half.

yeah for some reason my backups came in, is that because of the pre-season setup?

also, my punter got hurt, put him on inactive then activated a different punter and put him as #1 on my depth, reason why he's not punting? do I need to IR the other guy? dont want him being out for the year?

This is a new change; during the preseason, your backups will play in the second half. See http://www.simdynasty.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=290103. However, if you have depth charts set up, it should still be following your depth chart. I see what went wrong on the defensive side, making adjustments now.

If you activate a guy during a game, it doesn't take effect until the beginning of the next game. Depth chart changes between quarters are honored but only if that player was Active when the game started.

Hehe. The only TD in my first pre-season game was a 19-yard run by a backup offensive tackle. Nice.

And yet Jabbar Pope never came in... very odd.

This was due to a bug in the cross-position conversion tables, it's been fixed.

Not that I'm opposed to linemen having their day:

I'm still seeing substitution problems in week 2, looking to see what I am doing wrong.

Yeah I've still got offensive guys starting on defense and vice versa .

Part of my problem is that I'm only carrying 9 interior offensive linemen but that doesn't account for all of it .

There is a basic problem with this however, 45 man roster, 22 starters + kicker + punter leaves only 21 backups so I think that's a big part of the problem .

Yes, and the problem is that the substitution code was designed to be Happy-proof, i.e. it allows for any possible substitution in case someone tries to create a team of 45 kicker and punters or something silly like that. But with the starters taken out, that leaves little to choose from, and I'm just having some issues with that threshold. I'm putting in some code now that should prevent the problem from occurring again; I'm going to pause the 4pm quarters until that code is in place.

OK, I think I have it now, I am unpausing the 4th quarter.

In my test game I still did see one out of position player, a TE in place of an RB; I need to dig in further to see what that was about, the other RB's may have been in rest mode which is a valid substitution.

I don't mean that in a negative way... butthere is always going to be someone who is going to say "Let's see what happens when I do THIS"... and the game has to be able to cope with that.

which I completely agree with, and it was good for the game that he did that, I just found it amusing that that's the way you chose to describe it
