Wow! No time to catch a breath

OMG! What a finish! I thought for sure it was going to take at least 163 games to figure out the NL situation...now, gotta turn around and get ready for St. Louis...again!

Steve, you've always been willing to take a stab at putting together a winning team. Looks like this time definitely "took." Congrats are in order, sir. Now, I love Jayme all to pieces, but that show you put on at the end was a treat to watch.

Over in the Superior Circuit, I am thoroughly, utterly, and in all other ways gob-smacked. At no time -- even when we were riding high -- did I see mine as a 100-win team (even in SD terms). I don't want to look at our Pythagorean record; last time I did that, I spent the next week knocking on any wood I saw.

Anyway, the Last10 on the standings tells the story, in both leagues. Balt & Wash in lockstep, with the Dips somehow being just ahead; Pitt with the late surge.

Great season, everybody. Even last-place teams were contributing, with key trades.

Everyone is invited to my owner's box -- free of charge -- for the playoffs. Hope some of y'all can make it.

Second year in a row losing out on the last day.

Congrats to a fine season for the NL playoff reps. It was a hard fought season. Steve's pitching came through in the end over my offense. I really thought it was Philly's year.

We have all returning starters coming back with hopefully a new short stop. So I am planning on taking one spot in 89.

I will sit back and watch some playoffs. Good luck to most of the teams. (please don't let the reign return).
