Another week another dominating performance by the BC Rain. Week 11 saw the Rain run their winning streak to 5 games, improve their record to 7-3 and stretch their lead in the Western Division of the American Conference to two games .
BC completely dominated New England in rolling to a 34-17 win under sunny skies and near perfect conditions at
The Waterworld in Vancouver. New England scored a late touchdown to make the score within reason but this game was never in doubt. BC built a 20-10 halftime lead and then added a pair of 3rd quarter touchdowns to make the fourth quarter a mere formality.
Once again it was a combination of high octane passing from Phil Bandy, who threw for 369 yards and 4 TDs and a withering defense that limited New England to 44 yards rushing and 248 yards in total offense . BC's passing offense now has the highest rating in the league through 11 weeks and the Rain are 3rd in passing yardage despite being only 10th in passing attempts.
The Rain defense punished New England QB Mike Graham, sacking him 6 times, picking off two passes and limiting him to a 42% completion rate. The Rain now have 44 sacks through 10 games and are making life hard on opposition offensive coordinators by effectively stuffing the run and harassing opposition quarterbacks .
Wide receiver Milt Young had his string of 200 yard games ended as he was limited to 180 yards on 12 catches and BC kicker Ed Garret missed a 39 yard FG attempt in the 4th quarter snapping his consecutive field goal mark at 20 .
BC finish up their four game homestand in week 12 with a huge inter-divisional game against the Los Angeles Bighorns, a win by the Rain would virtually ensure them of the divisional crown .
