Fixed Tampa's Roster

December 22, 2010 at 05:24PM View BBCode

OK, it's still not pretty but at least they have 40 players, CPs set and guys playing the right position.

Nice to see others offering to help Cleveland out with their salary problem by trading for their super stars.

Thanks, TR. Any ideas about what we can do with CLE? If it was a real team, there are actually a lot of things I would trade with it to help out with salary stuff, but I'm not about to collude with myself in order to compete this year. The free agents didn't want to be in Atlanta this season. Oh well.

OK, I see a possible solution by semi-combining the STL and CLE rosters. I'm working on this now. If anyone objects they can log in and reverse everything afterwards.

So is hobos not running the CLE team? I thought he was negotiating trades.

I don't see any notice of that situation anywhere. I see a nonsensical mess in CLE that is way over the cap and a team in STL that has not placed a free agent bid in 3+ seasons.

I've got a 7 player for 14 player deal set up right now that would significantly upgrade STL's talent, decrease CLE's salary, and bring both teams (nearly) into compliance with the 40-man rule.

I think all hobos did was try and clean up the free agency bids, but then someone went in later and bid on them again which is how Estelella ended up there late in the bidding.

Make the deal .

Yeah ... I ran into a snag with the 25 man major league roster thing. I'm working on it.

OK, the trade is done. CLE is under the cap and STL has a semi-real team (they will be better than ATL this year!). I'll work on CLE's roster now and set lineups/rotations/cp's/etc.

As a summary, in Tampa I signed the following free agents:

[url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=61783]Thomasen[/url] - 4 years @ $1.2 million per year
[url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=61135]Charlie Lord[/url] - 2 years @ $4.5 million per year - overpaid but cap not an issue
[url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=61421]Dick Hudson[/url] - 2 Years @ $10.5 million per year
[url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=61294]Don Harris[/url] - $1.2 million for one year
[url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=61818]Earl Kemp[/url] - 7 years @ $5 million per year
[url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=61311]Jake Stellberger[/url] - 2 years @ $1.5 million per year
[url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=62010]Joe Jenkins[/url] - 6 years @ $2.2 million per year
[url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=61527]Paul Kirkland[/url] - 2 years @ $3.5 million per year
[url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=61189]Terry McIntosh[/url] - 2 years @ $5.5 million per year

Many of these could be seen as over bids but when you have the lowest prestige in the league and $60 million in cap space a little over payment is required.

Tampa has won 36 games in the past three years combined, I think they'll be a little better this year.

I hate this cp system. (Can I just say that?) CLE's roster is set except for the minor leagues, which I am working on now. They have one player on his way to the minors via the waiver process, but they should still be under the cap when he gets there (I hope).

I just prioritized the cp's from youngest to oldest, 15 to 1. Probably not the best way, but he has 40 people on the roster and is under 80M.

It looks like Rooster or someone already fixed STL. Thanks! (BTW, that team is going to just dismantle my Atlanta squad. We cannot hit.)

Did anyone reverse the Cy Ronan, Marvin Bell for Eric Ferguson, Larry Blankenship, Pete Garcia and Bobby Peterson trade?

Me too, I'm not sure what it accomplishes but unless you have an auto-arrange feature like line-ups do it's just far too time consuming . If I acquire a top prospect who I want to have 14 points on him I have to manually change every players points or leave it to chance.

I thought that Cleveland was being actively managed now, but I'm really glad to see that you fixed things.

I made a small trade with Tampa, in doing their signings I left them incredibly weak in Middle Infield so I traded them a still serviceable [url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=61151]Jim Hartley[/url] for a 3rd round pick.

If anyone has a problem I'll reverse the deal but really Tampa was desperate for middle infield help.

COLLUSION!

December 24, 2010 at 12:05PM View BBCode

:lol:

(I don't have a problem with it.)

((This is despite the fact that I am sure the 3rd round pick you acquired will turn out to be a gem and improve like crazy to become an A+ overall player by OS23. This is because you are crunchy awesome, although, in the same league with Tim and The Statue, I can't bring myself to decide who is the crunchiest.))
