Hot Streaks? Cold Streaks?

Does the game engine have streaks factored into it? I have a stud player who is having a really bad year and his skills are actually better than they were in previous seasons.

Steve Clemmons:

no ??? i am not so sure. some players i had in the past were having on a regular basis a good season followed by a mediocre one, or in some other case a really outstanding one followed by a good one, it was so for the duration of their entire career except for the few last seasons in their decline.

also i saw more than once, players year in and year out starting slow and getting better as the season progress, to me it look like factored streaks.

this pattern i am so sure it exist that in many cases i let a player with bad stats in the lineup knowing that later in the season his numbers will be insane to balance the bad start, for exemple a player with an at bat average of .250 for the first fifty games, will bat for .350 later in the season to finish every season with an average of .290

and finally why should i believe there is no streaks in the game while there is a streaks factor for improvement conversion ? i read somewhere there is 14 different development curves assigned randomly to every created players. Gem, Enigma, Eureka, Bust ......

Be patient with Clemmons, im sure he is gonna go into a frenzy at some point and finish the season with numbers that makes sense with his skills

Yeah, I see some streakiness too. Joe Finch started off last season hitting close to .350, probably as late a 60 games into the season. Ended at .276/.356/.739. Harold Benes started EXTREMELY slowly, but ended up at .266/.332/.770, which is in line with the rest of his career.

It seems like it all balances out in the end, and when someone goes cold, someone else goes hot.

I've also noticed that the first year before declines or first year after declines tend to be pretty bad, then things stablize and decline normally.

Streaks and slumps?
Take a look at the Batbusters.
Last season we were at the top or the top five in all counting stats and right up there in team stats. Plus we eeked out a WS win.
This season we're lucky to win a regular season series.
In April and May we were next to last in most league hitting stats.
That's a team slump!
Is it factored in?
I'd give that a "qualified" yes. being that the Sim D program strives to mimic MLB.
If that is the goal, then players/teams should flourish and slump.
I'm waiting for the Philly slump. That comes in October!
As far as Clemmons being a "stud player", me thinks he's an average lead off guy that is seeking a normal level of performance.
At OS 25 the batting skills are about maxed out. Don't look for "better than they were" anymore.

this is a sad day for me, one i wish never happened, but today i disagree with Shoe. Clemmons is much better than you think, he will get better. Not a lot, but if he can go from A- to A in power and speed that's gonna improve his numbers by a lot. the only thing i dislike about him is his D+ health

Rhut Ro, I've sadden my pal.
It is not a good day!
What I was looking at was that the IC's and Improves have declined with age, which is normal, and his counting stats have fallen off since his All Star reserve year.
Maybe tneal can tell how close Clem is to A power and yes he might make low A speed.
I know Joel has an outstanding record by building teams with high contact and speed that's why I said Clemmons would make a leadoff (or #2) guy.
I do not see that he is slumping just playing to potential.
55% of his hits result with him scoring but his caught stealing stands at 30%.
A Stud? I wouldn't call him one. A good contact OBP guy? Yep.
