Are we unable to claim players off waivers?

There are three dashes (---) in the box where we'd normally claim players from waivers, despite it saying that all of them have a claim date of 4/6/1951. Is this related to going back in time (so to speak) to the free agency period despite the season having progressed past the stated claim date?

(Note that even free agents not on waivers nor DFA are unavailable to be claimed.)

Well you can't claim players on waivers during the free agency process I thought they were supposed to free up after the last day of bidding but maybe its after the first game that they free up.

when the calendar turns to April 1 is when we can start claiming people

Ah...I thought it was after the final round of free agent signings was completed. Thanks for the clarification!
