Is it Possible?

In this trial league team Claude "Paid in" Nichols, has 33 HRS and 111 RBI's and has a .454 average and has a OBP of .500 up, gets on base half of the times. That would be a good-decent season in a pay league. But THIS IS A TRIAL LEAGUE only 82 games. It is amazing he hits about .40 of a HR a game. More than 1 RBI a Game. Never seen more than 85 RBIs in a trial league.

pitching is no where near as good in trial leagues as it is in pay leagues though, it looks cool and impressive but you'll never see it in a pay league unless teams are messed with for it to happen

can't you just say "unless teams are OGLed" ? I would be happy with that being our legacy.

I figured I'd let you say it and get to see that 99 homer season again :)

what, this one?

it's not the 99 HR that impresses me so much as the 351 hits and 338 runs scored. you'll notice that the 305 rbi's didn't lead the league though, the slacker.

The defining difference between trial leagues and pay leagues is the overall talent level of the players. In a trial league, C+/A+ is cleanup hitter material while in pay leagues it's going to hit .260 with 20-25 HRs. (Nichol's righty grades, health, speed, and defense are all first rate, however, in either trials or pay leagues he would be a star).

So if Nichols was in a pay league, he would face team's whose fifth starters have B- control, and make the all star team for sure, but in a trial league he would face teams with B/C- pitchers and absolutely destroy them.

The .500 OBP is always funny to see, though.

(C+/A+? What about ... D/A+!)

((Actually we also had a C+/D guy hit .302.))
