When Pitt. was headed to another 8 game winning streak at game 78, with win 7 on the line, my hero Joel (with his outstanding managerial skills, that's respect folks) somehow pulls off 11 runs in the last two frames to whoop the league leaders.
Thank you moustique. We were getting tired trying to keep up with Pittsburgh and we did lose to Brooklyn that day.
There is the fear of a big slide. The more distance between our spot and #3 the better this team is.
We can smell the NL championship and Tat's team is but an annoyance. We can take them from the 2 slot without a sweat.
That's my respect and smack down post for this week.

It's about time Joel and his Malcontents pulled out a win over the Mighty Scrap Iron! While it's true that the feisty Milwaukee team has had our number all year, I still see no reason to be concerned about any match up in October. I've got history on my side... My starting rightfielder and starting catcher are both injured and we're still holding our own, so my pulse continues to be slow and steady.

The dearly beloved that replied to this post have done so in the manner I expected.
They knew I would have to respond so here goes..
I love the fun. There should be more of it.
Tat writing:
"It's about time Joel and his Malcontents pulled out a win over the Mighty Scrap Iron!"
Young Joel must of got a great laugh out of that statement. I'm not going into league records here.
Then Dave continues...
"I still see no reason to be concerned about any match up in October. I've got history on my side..."
Insert a couple of my yawns here.
If you think my cross border friend is going to escape with his suggestion:
"you should raise a statue of myself in front the Wrigley Field North. My face facing the sun...... of course"
He has figured out that as much as I respect him ( I'm supposed to say that out loud three times a day, and I do, yuk yuk) there will never be a statue of him anywhere on the grounds of the stadium my team occupies regardless of witch way his face or any other part of his body is pointed!
That is all. For now...

Shoe really is a brilliant mind. He somehow manage to know what im thinking at any moment of the day or night. He is right, i was laughing out loud ( lol for short) at this statement. Tat just look at my playoff apparitions and WS app .....the answer is there.

Joel, your record is very impressive, indeed. You are a pioneer in the JBL. There, I have officially paid homage to a legend. Now back to the facts. 10-2 overall vs. the Mighty Joel this year. Enough said. Shoe, do you fertilize, water, etc. or just mow? I'm in the market...:D
Seriously, it's been fun these past few seasons after so many years in the cellar, and I know I have the worst minor league team in the JBL, and a rapidly aging big league club, so I've got to get my jabs in now while I can!

Hee,Hee,Hee...
This IS fun.
Tat honoring Joel as a pioneer and a legend.
OK, that was honorable and deserved.
Geeze this respect stuff is thick!
Speaking of thick, why would anyone need to import fertilizer to the fields in Pennsylvania? Me thinks those two owners have plenty of their own.
I will tell you, Dave, my mowing fee at the Steel Mill
might be cheaper than it is in Philly seeings how there is less grass to mow in left field.
I say
might because we could work out a deal here with the NLCS winner receiving the lawn care services from the also ran guy. We came in third to Joel's second a while ago why do you think I'm doing that job?
I want my infield cut to Wrigley standards, quite high with plenty of fertilizer to keep it thick. Just so you will be ready Tat.
My contract with Joel stands for the next four seasons and am not at all concerned that I will have to take on any more work if you accept this challenge.
Listen.....
whrrrrrrrrrr....slurp... whrrrrrrrrr.....slurp... whrrrrrrrrr....slurp
That's the sound of Tat mowing the outfield in Milwaukee and trying to stay hydrated!
