NY Yankees at Chicago Trial II
Yanks centerfielder Hideki Matsui paces a 12-2 Yankee victory by going 4-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI's while hitting for the cycle. He also walked once to reach base in all 5 plate appearances. Interestingly enough, no one could drive him in except when he did it himself with the 9th inning homer, despite the fact that he led off innings 3 times, twice with extra base hits!
1st inning: 2-out single, left stranded (vs. Luis Bacsik)
3rd inning: lead-off triple, left stranded (vs. Luis Bacsik)
5th inning: lead-off walk, left stranded (vs. Ben Dover)
7th inning: lead-off double, left stranded (vs. Tom Glavine)
9th inning: 1-out, 1-on 2 run homer (vs. Soft Tosser)
