If all 5 of your SP are tired, Abe will now check to see if there are any fully rested pitchers in the bullpen with endurance of C- or better. If he finds one, that pitcher will start. Otherwise, Abe will start the most rested pitcher on your team between your SP and the 2 LR spots.February 12, 2010 at 06:02AM View BBCode
Would a SP with 4 bars be considered tired or able to start? I'd think he would be your first choice if he's available.February 12, 2010 at 04:53PM View BBCode
Under the old system, he'd be the starter if your other starters or Long Reliever didn't have 5 bars.February 12, 2010 at 06:15PM View BBCode
I would also think a slightly tired SP would be preferable to a rested C- Rp if push came to shove. Both would pitch similar innings, wouldn't they?February 12, 2010 at 06:22PM View BBCode

Currently, we don't want people to start pitchers on short rest unless it is an emergency situation. Also, if that SP with 4 bars starts, presumably he was supposed to start the next game, so you're facing the same problem the next game.February 12, 2010 at 08:36PM View BBCode
That makes sense, but would ABE take into account an upcoming offday, for instance, that might mean only one guy would have to go on short rest and then the rotation would be set again?February 12, 2010 at 09:21PM View BBCode
That would be a ton of work to pull off.Pages: 1
