Baltimore's Dan Smith has joined the ranks of the few. Pinch-hitting in the 8th inning of Baltimore's 2nd game , Smith sent a 3-1 pitch off the facing of the left field upper deck for a first at-bat major league debut HR.

I don't read anywhere that it "was off the facing of the upper deck". But nice imagination Barney :lol:
