Brown gave up 2 singles and a sacrifice fly which allow Lynn Kramer to score. After Stu Apfel flies out to centre, WAS still has a 1-run lead with 2 outs. All Brown did was giving up 2 singles followed by J N Chung's 3-run homer.
This lost doesn't sit well for the rest of players in the Was locker room. They are thinking that they just wasted a great effect by their ace, and their closer is not capable of closing a game -- even with a 2-run lead.
Consequently, they lost the remaining 2 games of the series and got swept by KC after going 10-1 at their recent hot steak.

Game 1 of the 3 game series between WAS & KC. WAS's ace John Benjaman pitched his heart out and his team gives him a 6-2 lead to work with heading into the 9th, after giving up a 2-run shot to Lin Alfson, closer Brent Brown was brought in to close the game with a 2-run lead.Brown gave up 2 singles and a sacrifice fly which allow Lynn Kramer to score.
