Good luck in the WS!

Brooklyn's pitching is top notch, and I just couldn't get much offense going against them.

So congrats to the Kings! I'll be pulling for them in the World Series.

I'm hoping I can still be competitive next season, with two starters in their mid 20's getting some improvement. Watt was one of the few highlights of my team's performance in the NLCS. He also pitched a great game in the last regular season series against the Ramblers.

This was probably the most exciting season I've had in the TRL since taking over the Pittsburgh team. Philly stayed on my heels right until the end.

I've got mixed feelings as the 2 1st place teams take each other on in the '76 TRL World Series. I'd like to see the Kings take another title for the NL, but at the same time I wouldn't mind see Cleveland win. The Cavs have, like myself, been around since the beginning of the league in 1950, and, also like myself, have come close to the title many times but not won in a long time (unlike myself who have finished 3rd or better in 20 of 27 years and NEVER won!!). So good luck to both teams in what should be a well-played series.

Congratulations to the Kings on their come-from-behind World Series victory. After being down 3 games to 1, the Kings looked to be dethroned. Yet the Kings rebounded to win the last 3 games of the series and win their 3rd straight series! That makes 6 straight NL titles to go with the 3 straight TRL crowns. This has to rank as one of the great runs in TRL history! Once again, we'll try our best to knock you off next season!! :D:D :D:D

Thanks, the Kings and I have been very fortunate. I took over a franchise that was in the midst of what turned out to be seventeen consecutive losing seasons. The team was very bad, but the roster contained quite a few young players with potential. Johnny Raymer was 19 years old and already very good. I had difficulty holding him in the minors; I didn't want to promote him too early. I felt that he would be one of the top pitchers in the league, but I didn't expect him to become one of the best pitchers of all-time. The others developed into a solid, well-rounded core that has featured excellent pitching, a balanced offense, speed, and good defense. A few good trades to plug some holes and several good draft picks helped, too. One could not ask for more.

With seven (not six) consecutive NLCS wins and three consecutive World Series championships, this is the team of the decade, for sure. However, the team is beginning to become long in the tooth. I believe the Kings will be good for a while longer, but the skills of many players will begin to erode very soon. In fact, for a few Kings the decline already has begun.

This has been a wonderful ride, a true dynasty since we finally have won some championships. Lately, the Iron Horses and the Ramblers have been nipping at our heels. Will one of these two teams take control of the NL? Will one of the other teams develop a core of young talent that will mount a championship challenge? One of the NL squads will do so. Which one will it be? It will be fun to see it all unfold.

Good luck to everyone - those of you in the AL, too - in 1977!
