New Changes Coming

January 06, 2009 at 05:30PM View BBCode

These changes will be moved into place on January 14th.

If you have any questions or comments, please ask them in this thread:

Here is the list:

- If a player has started in more than 95% of his team's games, Abe will use his health to calculate when he needs rest. Previously, Abe used percentage of team games played which resulted in A and A- players needing 1-2 more days off per season than they should have needed.

- When a player advances to third after an error, it will say "The runner advances to third on the error." Previously, this said "on the hit."

- If you have your closer rule setup to not bring him in when there is a no hitter or shutout, and the starting pitcher was Pinch Hit for in the 8th inning, Abe previously didn't bring in the Closer. This bug has been corrected.

- If a catcher has 1 red health bar, he will no longer be available to pinch hit.

Celamantia has continued to make a number of impressive interface changes to the site as well:

- New search interface. Now, rather than just searching by name, you can search for players by their status (Majors, Minors, Waiver Wire, Retired for a specified number of years), by skills, and/or by position. In addition, you can search for players by prior name for players who have had name changes.

- Two new logo sets have been added for all Expansion cities.

- The Depth Chart now shows alternate positions for position players.

- There is status information in the upper right corner of most pages: the league name and date in the banner and a display of which owners are online, and the number of trades and U2U's waiting for action

- You can now see which owners in your league have been online within the past 15 minutes. A new option has been added to the Profile page to hide your status if you would prefer that other owners not know when you are online.

- The Trade Desk has been revamped. Trades now show the league date that they were proposed, and whether or not the other owner has read the Trade Desk page since the trade was proposed. In addition, player skills and positions are now shown right on the Trade Desk to make evaluating trades easier.

- Links on the Trade Desk page now go to the opposing team's Depth Chart to select players to make an offer for. When reaching the Depth Chart from the Trade Desk, options for draft pick trades will be available.

- The Schedule, Standings, Box Scores, and Trade Desk pages have been optimized for mobile viewing.

- Assigned Coach Points are now visible on the Depth Chart.

- There are now links to send a U2U message to an owner on the Depth Chart page. In addition, clicking on the new Online indicators will send a U2U, and the League Info page now has a "Send U2U to all owners" link.

- The "Trade Offer Received" badge on the Home Page has been replaced with individual badges for each team that has proposed a trade to you. Hovering over these icons will give more information, and clicking them takes you to the Trade Desk.

A few more things:

- The top header image has been modified and I think it looks really nice. We removed the Fantasy Sports stuff from this, and added the league name and league date to this.

- We've fixed a bug where a bunt back to the pitcher resulting in a double play was not being tracked as a double play in the defensive stats.

- You will now get an email anytime a trade in your league is made. You can turn this off from the userpref area.
