Best political story of the year.

October 31, 2008 at 04:08AM View BBCode

The idiot wind has been blowing for well over a year now and several times I have thought we were at the bottom. However [url=http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/30/dole.ad/index.html]new depths[/url] can always be reached. I have had to look over the ballot props this year here in California and I wonder where does the time and wealth for this crap come from. Aside from the legalized hookers in SF this Dole story is still the one that brings a tear to my commie hating eye.

Even if Liddy Dole wins, how do you govern after doing something so despicable?

Even if she wins, she'll be in the minority in the Senate. Why would anyone listen to her after she did something this low? She'll have her vote, and that'll be about it. She certainly won't be able to get anything that she wants done. For 6 years.

You know how your hero John McCain talks about "reaching across the aisle" and all that jazz (or at least, that was one of the thousands of campaign themes that he tried for a few days and then abandoned)? Well, that is something a Senator has to do in order to get things done. Now why would anyone reach across to Liddy Dole after she's proven that she's just another unprincipled, vindictive wingnut? She's not even particularly popular in North Carolina. If she wins (and I think she won't) expect to see a lot of press conferences where she's complaining that the Democrats are enforcing their legislative agenda without consulting with Republicans. That's what the extreme wings of the parties usually do when they're out of power.

reaching across the aisle is something that should only be done when you need to punch someone in the face.

I think it's about the crazy lady who won't give candy to little children who's parents support Barack Obama.

well that's not going far enough. I suggest dressing as Obama and taking candy from the kids and giving it to yourself and say "see, you have a lot of candy, I dont have much. so you deserve to have less and I deserve to have more, even though you put in all the legwork and I just sat on my ass at home." Thats what I did.
