Welcome, Chip. This league is competitive and fun. We have a good group of owners. Good luck in the AL!

Hey, Chip, welcome to the league. I'm trying to run the Privateers out of the ground. Been at it for 3 years now... and slight improvements each year. Hopefully my guys can make a few surprises this year.
Seem to always be on the lookout for young pitching... but who isn't?

After doing a bunch of freebie leagues (single season, 3 games a day) I figured I would give this a shot for two seasons.
I grew up playing Strat-O-Matic, so this is cool.
If anyone is looking for a veteran bat for a good pitcher 30 or younger, let me know.

Hi Chip, welcome to the league. Great group of guys here. I was the new guy not long ago. Been working hard trying to find a winning combination. Good luck with your team.

Chip, throughout my life I have played APBA, Strat-O-Matic, Replay, Diamond Mind, and probably some more. I played in face-to-face and mail leagues. Eventually, I migrated from the board game versions to the computer.
I must say that SD is so much more. I love the realism associated with players developing and declining over time. And the free agent drafts and minor league player development, And so much more ...
I played a in a single season league for about a week before I knew I was hooked. Yes, this is cool. Enjoy!!

That's about how I was. I played a Single Season about a year ago, and got hooked. Took over the CHN team in the Joe Jackson League. It was a decent team, but not as good as the top 4 teams in the NL. I made a couple of trades, rearranged the lineup, and made a few tweaks to the manager settings. That first season, I improved the team by 10 teams, and moved us into 3rd place. Kept working at it, and in my third season made it to the World Series. Last season we hit a bump in the road... and I traded off a couple of vets that were getting close to that magical declining age for 1st and 2nd round picks for this past off season and next off season... and a solid young 1st-year player. Good start so far at 4-2, and taking series from both teams that finished ahead of me last season.
I took on this team to test my skills at rebuilding a franchise that has only 1 winning season in its history. I've managed to improve the team quite a bit, but the record has only inched upward thus far. I think I might have a good shot at .500 this season, especially if a couple of young pitchers come along well. Hell, thought I had a good shot at .500 last season, was .500 through the first 60 games. Then they tanked as my bullpen sprang a leak over the last 100 games or so.
