Went for 2 point conversion

July 29, 2008 at 04:56PM View BBCode

In something other than an pitching [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/boxscore.jsp?cityid=14&boxscoreid=10396668]duel.[/url] The manager decided to go for a 2 point conversion late in the game and the gamble paid off.

Note the few runs scored in the 9th.

Happy's a gamer. He goes out there, gives up his 8 hits, and puts the ball club in a position to win. Keep your fancy stats like "ERA" and "balks" -- this is the kind of team player that wins you championships. If I had a team of 25 Happy Grooms, I'd ... well, I'd worry about the bride, frankly. But then, after I was done worrying, I'd just sit back and anticipate my Day with the Cup.

The good news is, it's looking like my team will be spared the agony of facing Mr. Groom any time soon.

As to Corky, I loved and still love him. Every time I sit in my drawing room, a snifter of brandy near at hand, and my gaze is drawn up to what is stuffed and mounted above the fireplace, I allow myself a small smile, savoring the victory that was ultimately mine.
