[url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=2583307]Don Gross[/url] - a very strange player, Don Gross was nonetheless a very solid closer. picked up off of the waiver wire by the Cincinnati Redlegs, he spent his entire career with the team, and what a career it was! He amassed 406 total saves for his career (which is tied for number 3 all time). He won two fireman awards, was in contention for 4, and was a four time all-star. He had high save totals, even while playing on a bad team for his entire career.

With 486 career saves, 6 fireman award wins, 9 all-star appearances, and a career 3.26 ERA, when Vitt came into the game, you knew it was over. St. Louis had a young closer that stepped in to take his place, that's why. I would have let him get 500 first if it had been me, but that's just me.

No for Gross
Gross's era is too high and while he had many saves he also had a losing record and many Blown saves as well.

If Gross can be a nominee with a ERA of 4.55 , i dont understand why [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=2583094]Eliminator Schawz[/url] is not ......right he's not a closer, but he had 172 wins as a setup pitcher and his ERA is much better[Edited on 7-17-2008 by moustique]
