Nolan Fry Sighting

April 21, 2008 at 12:35AM View BBCode

This past weekend, while running some errands, I bumped into former TRL star [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=1669362&statsorimps=stats]Nolan Fry[/url] in old town Scottsdale, not too far from Scottsdale Stadium. Nolan had just emerged from a local jewelry store where he had just had his nine World Series rings cleaned and polished. Since his recent retirement from TRL action, he has been playing some golf and, in general, enjoying himself.

Nolan appeared to be quite miffed at being overlooked as a nominee for the most recent TRL Hall of Fame election. I had to tell him that I had not realized that he had retired during the off season. I was quite embarrassed. With a 322-114 lifetime W-L record, a 2.87 career ERA, and three Cy Young awards, the league's only 300+ game winner is an obvious candidate for election to the TRL Hall of Fame.

I told him that I would be sure to nominate him for election to the TRL HOF in the next election. He was very appreciative. He said election to the TRL HOF would be a capstone honor that he would always cherish.

Nolan said to say hello to all his TRL buddies. He hopes they are appreciative of how much easier it is to compete without facing his awesome stuff every so often.

I'll bet he didn't have anything nice to say about me. He won game 4 of the 68 NL playoffs, and game 4 (the deciding game!) of the 68 WS. I was gonna make him MVP of the Series, then the SOB goes and retires on me. I had to replace him this year with a C+ endurance reliever, cause I didn't have any decent starters to bring in. The chump left me in the lurch. He better not ask me for any box seat tickets. LOL Arturo
