Clips got to be happy, they are assured to be at least fifth place for now on, that's improvement!
So with the new divisions, which one will be the toughest next season?

southeast is a joke. washington will win it probably with a record under .500. i doubt any of those 5 teams will make the playoffs this year. memphis and la clippers are at the beginning of the end. neither of them will make the playoffs for several years, they better do good this year cuz they wont for a long time

Adds Charlotte to the East, puts New Orleans in the West, so both conferances will have 15 teams now.

Maybe they should have gone to a divisional system like football, 8 divisions.
Same thing for baseball, make it mean something to win a division. To many teams make the postseason in basketball.
Whats the point of 82 games if half the teams go on to the next round. If they insist on having that many, then go to a playoff format like the NCAA. How great would it have been to see Lakers and Kings a couple of years ago actually be the finals like it deserved to be......
man, I am rambling, sorry.....:spin:

30 teams splits up nicely into 6 divisions, but not 8, and 32 splits nicely into 8. Basketball too many teams make the playoffs, I think football has the best playoffs system, and the NBA should look at doing something like that where the really good teams get byes.

A bye system would help a lot, it gives an NBA team a big advantage to have a weeks rest in the playoffs. It would make the regular season a lot more important.
The baseball wild card is what needs to go, I meant for that to have the eight divisions, I was just all over the place with the last post.
