Eventual League All Time HR Leader on the Block

February 02, 2008 at 08:02PM View BBCode

Joe Consolo, who is closing in on 400 HRs while still in his 20s, has requested a trade. The Bangers are saddened by Joe's request but will field offers for his services. He will not come cheap.

Since I may not be returning to this league next year, I'd prefer players in the 19-24 age group so that if I leave the league, the new owner will have a great nucleus to build from.

Also, act quickly because I have already launched two offers of my own involving Big Joe.

I have received several reasonable offers for Consolo. Thank you guys for not sending the silly offers that would have invariably arrived in many of my other leagues. I really appreciate that.

I will not take too long with decided to whom, if anyone, I will trade Joe. I just wanted everyone to know that I am not ignoring your offers but waiting to get the best deal I can.

I canceled an offer I had previously made in the AL and have one offer out to an NL team which I am waiting on. If my proposed offer is declined, I will return to deciding which, if any, of the offers I received is best for Brooklyn's future.

If you haven't made an offer yet, bear in mind that Joe will be a difference maker for years to come. With his A+ health, his decline after age 33 will be a veeeeery slow one so he is a very young 29 year old.

Well, the Joe C negotiations have ended for the time being. Consider him on the market all season long but I just didn't see any deals that caused me to pull the trigger. Thanks for the offers, guys.

Joe is now, at age 29, one dinger away from 400. ESPN will be cutting in on each at bat until number 400 is in the books.
