The Good
- A rousing come back in the second half of the season ending with clinching the AL Pennant fueled by the mid season acquisition of veteran pitcher Rich Harris
- Six All-Stars
- Another MVP Season from Lev Palnmeiro
- Dave Hathawayestablishes himself as a superstar and worth sucessor of HOF catcher Ed Perezchica.
- Dick Cox has a big year in a part time roll and returns for one final season in the sun.
The Bad
- A disappointing defeat in the World Series. The time has come to rebuild.
- Not qute the rookie season we were hoping for from Dave Doyle who played himself on to the bench for the post-season.
The Ugly
- The bullpen. 20 blown saves for the season is not up to the fine standards of Cyclone bullpens of the past.
Management Thoughts
- The time has come to rebuild the Cyclones. It has been a fun run but I see new powers rising in the AL. Best of luck to all for 1971.

Mark Hernandez making the All Star Team
Mike Dumoulin winning 18 games despite a 5.37 ERA
Slim Marshall again doing yeoman service in the bullpen winning 11.
Leading the majors with 34 Complete Games.
Leading the NL in Double Plays and fewest Errors.
The Bad

Outlook
The team hopes to contend in 1971, but the pitching will
have to improve.

Little Lebowski Urban Achievers
The Good
--Won the World Series!
--Elwood Blues, Jack Sheehan & Chad Nichol moving up on several career leaderboards; Elwood and Sheehan passed 3000 hits last year, Sheehan moved into career triples lead.
--Bill Rhodes wins ERA and WHIP titles in his first season as a starter.
--Bugsy Malone slides into Rhodes' closers role by winning Cy Young and Rolaids awards.
the bad
-minor league improves didn't go so well for Bill Lindeman and Ovaltine Thompson, and it's not like they were that good to start with
the ugly
--Retiring this offseason: Darryl Zero, Turk Lown, Harry Macon, Sammy Pollet, Steve Tresh, Rico Canizzaro, Jack Krawczyck, Roberto Sosa, Jose Kiser
the outlook
--ugh. The Lebowskis would like to follow up their World Series crown with a strong season, but it may not be in the cards. We lost a lost of contributors, and only one of the minor league callups is all that good.

The Good
- Hey, y'all remember Bob Butler? The guy who was kvetching about not being able to win a game? Well, he racks up 18 of them. His 18-7, 2.69 season allows him to bring home his second Irv.
- And not just the front man: the backup singers were hot too. Lightnin Fisher's career year (14-6, 3.56) and Dick Sloan's sharp relief (16 wins from the pen) round out a staff that somehow posts the second-best ERA in the majors.
- Bill Rhodes tears up the league, with another 30-HR, 100-RBI season, posting an OPS over 1.000. Only a 37-day injury prevents him from making a very strong showing for the coveted MVPNBR award.
- Solid offense, though not spectacular. Charlie Heffner's blistering season as first man off the bench. Late-season pickup Gorin solidifies left side of infield.
- Dependable defense, with a + overall, not too many errors, and second-fewest steals allowed.
The Bad
- So that's two seasons in a row that my middle-infield MVP candidate gets hurt for most of September. Nichols in '69, Rhodes in '70. Annoying, even for a team largely built on low-health sluggers.
- Utterly pathetic showings from vets like Frank Robertson and Mike Clevenger.
The Ugly
- I kinda wish we'd, you know, shown up for the LCS.
The Future
- Some exciting deals happening to get us tuned up for 1971. Watch this space.
