I would pass. You are giving up 2 A rated SPs that are in the prime of their career.

The picks will be late in the round and the players that are being offered to me are not good enough. You should be looking for top pitching prospects or good young ML ready pitchers in return.

I personally don't trade pitching for hitting unless I am ready for the playoffs and the hitter(s) are top rated will make an impact to my team.

I would probably take this deal. You're in a rebuild, and these guys aren't going to help you get anywhere except by utilizing their trade value.

The picks aren't going to be great, but it IS three 1st rounders and some 2nds. The two hitters you're getting are very high quality as well; the pitcher is a maybe, but if he's a high B-/B- he may still be a passable B+/B+ or could even see a very low A- overall by his very early 30's.

Trading studs like these is always excruciating, but you're getting the equivalent of 5-6 1st rounders and more, and that's not a bad deal for two studs who are OS 29 and OS 30.

I'd like the deal a lot better for you if he'd give you some CPs instead of those 2nd rounders, though. You do face a prospect glut with so many picks. If the other owner substituted 10 CPs for the two 2nd rounders, I'd start to feel pretty good about this deal.

i'd take it as well. it's a very good offer for two pitchers of that age, and although i'd prefer a top pitching prospect and a top hitter instead of two top hitters, it's still a very good offer. i agree with rnz about the pitcher, but he's worth throwing in the rotation to see what he turns into. if your league allows cp trading then rnz's advice there is also solid. i really like the picks involved here actually. his roster is very old and there's a shot that the last 1st rounder could be something very usefull.

after doing this deal i'd also auction off henley.

Tough call, the talent coming back is pretty good but those 2nd rounders don't do much for me and you are giving up 2 top end SPs.

I'd be inclined to counter offering either SP in return for the 2 hitters and a #1, I'm not crazy about OS23 B-/B- SPs. This way you add 2 good young hitters and a pick and still have one veteran to trade later

it's maybe worth a shot i guess, but he'd have to be nuts to trade both hitters and a 1st for one of those pitchers, and if you piss him off too much you risk losing the entire deal.

I personally think BoSox would have to be nuts to trade either of those pitchers for anything less than 2 solid gold prospects and a #1. Lets face it the 2nd rounders aren't going to be able to be developed so what value are they going to have ?

This deal comes down to 2 All Star calibre SPs in their prime for 3 late round picks, one very good young major leaguer with health concerns, one good prospect (Rolling - though he has major contact issues) and one decent prospect.

As I said it's a tough call, but I wouldn't do it as it stands.

After you give him Sonnastine and Talbot he's still gonna contend for a couple of more years so I doubt that last pick is any better then 11 or 12.

Yeah, this trade has been very tough to decide on. I have practiced poor trade etiquette for letting it sit so long. I just can't seem to pull the trigger, even though i know i am not going ot have enough to compete with them and nothing else going forward.
