so you've been offered a 1st and two 2nds for two mentors and your own 1st rounder? it comes down to two questions i guess. one, do you need the mentors yourself? if you do, decline. two, how does his 1st compare to yours? if yours will be (or even could be) a better pick, decline. if they'll be too close to call, decline. if yours will be significantly higher than his (like 5-10 spots higher) then maybe. if he wanted to offer the two 2nds for the mentors i'd say go ahead. but with him including the junk picks and the two 1sts, i suspect that he's trying to make off with what he thinks will be a better pick by trying to pass off two mostly worthless picks as being enough value for you to drop a few spots. they're not.

Pittsburgh's #1 will be lower (as in worse and closer to the #16 slot) than yours unless he makes that trade he posted about earlier. Come to think of it, it still be lower than yours when I look at your pitching compared to his. How far? I have no idea. You are giving up a likely top 2-3 #1 pick for one that is somewhat middle of the order as a guess. Where did Detroit finish last year? If middle of the road then you give up a high #1 for a middle #1 and two middle #2s. Depends on the draft... but it could help you gain alot of talent if you bet on a DEEP draft. If it is a top heavy, shallow draft, you lose...

Are you a gambler?

The mentor issue was addressed earlier and soundly.
