In what we all hope will be one of many exciting duels to come 19 year Neil Kelsey of the Chicago Bears and 18 year old J.R. Richards of the Cleveland Spiders matched fastballs. Kelsey worked 6.0 innings fanning eight and walking three, while giving up 4 runs on eight hits. Richards went 7.2 innings whiffing 5 and walking 5 while allowing only 2 runs on two hits in a game won by Cleveland 4-2. Kelsey is the leader in the rookie of the year voting and Richards is getting his baptism by fire with the pitching poor Spiders.:o
